Heikki Kohonen (24) has started as a service engineer in Junttan Oy’s ExcaDrill rock drilling business unit on 5^th of July, 2010. His duties include commissioning and servicing ExcaDrill rock drilling equipment both in Finland and abroad. Kohonen has joined Junttan Oy in February, 2006.

Junttan Oy bought ExcaDrill rock drilling business unit from Pilomac Oy in May 2010. ExcaDrill’s production facilities are located in the vicinity of Junttan Oy’s new manufacturing plants in Kuopio. The rock drill machine business complements the work and product range of Junttan Oy, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pile driving machinery and equipment.

First introduced in Bauma 2010 fair, Junttan’s new PMx20 pile driving rig will step into serial production right after ongoing summer. This completely renewed rig combines modern construction machine engineering with Junttan’s 30 years of experience in pile driving equipment. It offers all the unsurpassed features as its legendary predecessor PM20 does. In addition, it provides great added value for overall rig operation and maintenance, making pile driving rig ownership much more convenient and profitable than ever before.

Junttan Oy is purchasing ExcaDrill, PiloMac Oy’s drilling equipment unit. The deal completes the corporate acquisition conducted at the end of March, in which Sinituote Oy, a Brotherus family company, bought Junttan Oy from PiloMac Oy.

The Brotherus family is becoming a majority share holder of the pile driving equipment manufacturer Junttan Oy of Kuopio through stock purchase. The sellers are Pilomac Oy as well as Pentti Heinonen and Juha Heinonen, the latter of whom is giving up a portion of his shares.  Brotherus' ownership of Junttan increases to 90.1 per cent from 23 per cent after the purchase. Junttan will continue as an independent corporation as a part of the Sinituote Group.

As the world’s leading manufacturer of pile driving technology, Junttan will introduce several new high-tech solutions in Bauma 2010 to further strengthen the method of pile driving as the most efficient, cost effective and environmental friendly way of piling.

Junttan has entered an agreement on service and spare parts cooperation with Danish Lesanco ApS. Through this cooperation Junttan will develop its customer service and bring the service closer to the customers.

As being Junttan Danish dealer for several years Lesanco has extensive and strong experience with Junttan piling equipment. It also represents several other international manufacturers of foundation equipment with excellent reputation of technical expertise and service. Lesanco´s facilities are located in Copenhagen. When required, their trained mechanic is able to move fast all over in Denmark, as well in Southern Sweden and deliver spare parts straight from their warehouse. Lesanco’s operation area in Sweden reaches from Malmö up to Jönköping.

Junttan reasserts its position as the leading piling technology expert in the world by launching a completely new system for piling process management – iPiler.

Due to major changes in market situation, Junttan has reformed its organization and developed it to more customer orientated direction. The main objective for these actions has been improving Junttan's service abilities towards customers.  

Junttan sales and service organizations have been combined. The person in charge of this department is Sales Director Miika Eskelinen. Product manager Tommi Lähteinen will join the Junttan sales team. The most important responsibility of the product manager is to support Junttan sales activities by working as a link between Junttan’s R&D and customers.

Junttan has made an agreement with Canadian Pile Driving Equipment Inc to solely sell and service Junttan products in Western Canada. Canadian Pile Driving Equipment Inc was founded in 2009 to promote Junttan equipment and provide the top quality sales, service and parts that complement the best pile-driving equipment made. The team includes Dean Hall, sales advisor, Bruce Patterson, sales, service, parts and Al Bach, service technician. Together, they bring over twelve years of experience with Junttan Pile Driving equipment and over fifty years experience in heavy duty repairs, manufacturing, welding, and machining experience. Junttan has signed a dealership agreement with Cimprotek in Mexico. Cimprotek has long experience in foundation equipment industry in its area. Cimprotek has well- organised, trained service staff, not to mention a dynamic sales team. It will take care of sales, servicing and spare parts for the Junttan product line in Mexico. This agreement will strengthen Junttan’s position in South American pile driving markets and is part of Junttan’s strategy to expand its distribution network through independent local companies that maintain a strong presence within the area’s pile-driving industry.

Graham Wren, Justin Perry and Chris Whalley from Stent Foundation Ltd/BBGE, UK, visited Junttan’s new premises in April. Junttan's Managing Director Tommi Lindbom presented them with an honorary plaque in recognition and gratitude for 10 years of cooperation and for Stent Foundation's 20^th Junttan Piling Rig.  Mr. Olli Inkinen (29) has joined Junttan´s sales team on December 1, 2008. As an Area Sales Manager he is responsible for Junttan sales in Scandinavian area. Olli holds a bachelor degree in marketing and business administration, and has a few years experience in sales and marketing. He has previously worked  as a Sales Representative at Suzuki International Europe GmbH in Espoo, Finland. Inkinen reports to Sales Manager Mr. Miika Eskelinen.

Mr. Jarmo Vanha-aho (42), BSc., has been appointed as Junttan’s new Service Manager. He started at his new position 5 November 2007. In his new duty Mr. Vanha-aho is responsible for Junttan’s spare parts sales, technical support, commissioning and field service and product training.

Jarmo Vanha-aho has a long international experience in after market. He has previously worked as Senior Training Manager at Rolls-Royce Marine.

Mr. Janne Tarvainen (38), Master of Science in Forestry, has joined Junttan’s sales team on March 19, 2007. As an area sales manager he is responsible for Junttan Sales in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He will be working in close cooperation with Junttan agents and dealers in above mentioned areas to expand and develop Junttan sales.

Janne Tarvainen has a long international experience in sales and marketing of earth moving machines. He has previously worked as Senior Marketing Representative at Caterpillar S.A.R.L based in several countries in Europe. He transferred to Junttan from the task of Segment Manager at Wihuri Oy Witraktor.

Junttan strengthens its position in growing US market by signing a new dealer

Junttan Oy, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hydraulic pile driving rigs, has signed a dealership agreement with Sun Piledriving Equipment, LLC (SPE). SPE is a highly respected supplier of pile driving equipment in its area, having over 20 years of experience in the pile driving industry. SPE will take care of Junttan product line sales, service and spare parts in South Eastern Coast of United States.

This agreement is part of the Junttan’s strategy to expand its distribution network through independent companies with a strong presence amongst area’s pile driving industry.  SPE’s strength is in its solid experience in sales and servicing pile driving equipment.  “Our new partner has a strong service network for securing customers’ effective use of pile driving equipment.  The arrangement will strengthen Junttan’s market position in the United States, “says Mr. Tommi Lindbom,  Managing Director of Junttan Oy.

Piling machine manufacturer Junttan Oy and forest machine manufacturer Oy Logset Ab are joining forces to form the new PiloMac Group (Piling and Logging Machines).

PiloMac Oy owns 100% of Oy Logset Ab and 83.3 % of Junttan Oy. Both companies continue as independent enterprises. PiloMac offers Logset and Junttan greater possibilities to continue growing and to gain a larger share of the international market.  PiloMac’s establishment promotes cooperation between Oy Logset Ab and Junttan Oy business functions and this will provide advantages including more effective purchasing and production development.

Tommi Lindbom (37 y.o.) has been chosen as PiloMac’s managing director.  He will also be managing director for Junttan and Logset.  Lindbom became managing director for Junttan in December 2005 and is based in Kuopio.

Pentti Heinonen, Founder of Junttan, will reach his 70^th  birthday on 03rd of September 2006.

Eskelinen moved back to Finland from US , after 4 yrs work with Ponsse North America, Inc. , where his last position was as District Sales Manager for North American Dealers.}
